Improve Your Closet Space: 4 Tips to Master a Small Space

improve your closet space

Get rid of unused items

A small closet is every woman’s nightmare, but don’t panic–We’ll show you how to improve your closet space faster than you can say “closet organizer”.

How to improve your closet space with these 4 simple tips to master your small space.

1. First Thing’s First—Lighten the Load.

The first way to improve your closet space is to clean out the closet. Make a point every 6 months to clear the clutter and get rid of unused clothing items.  A good rule of thumb—If you haven’t worn it in a year, throw it out or donate it.

2. Utilize Vertical Space.

Look high and low to find unused space in your closet. Add extra shelves and rods lower and/or higher than your typical space where you can or use dead wall space to add hooks, bins, or shelves.

3. Use the closet door.

The inside of a closet door is a great place for additional storage. By adding hooks, small baskets, and even rods, you now have a place for those hard-to-store items like scarves, hats, purses and other accessories.

4. Fill the odd space.

Use bicycle hooks to hang suitcases and odd sized items from the ceiling. The small dead space on the wall above the door is a great place to hang rarely used items or to add shelves and if you look hard enough, you may be able to find other unused odd spaces to add some hooks, shelves or bins.
